According to a Reuters release, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the new BA.2 mutation virus is more contagious than Omega, with five major countries in the world today. But there is a high rate of infection from BA.2 virus.
"The BA.2 virus is more contagious than the BA.1 virus and other strains of the virus," said Dr. Boris Pavlin, of the World Health Organization (WHO). The worst-affected countries are the Philippines, Nepal, Qatar, India and Denmark.
Dr Pavlin added that based on data from Denmark, the first country to detect BA.2 virus, it did not appear to be much different from Omega, only that BA.2 virus was more contagious. They are in the family line of Omikrong.
BA.2 is contagious to people of all ages, whether you have been vaccinated or not, but only if you are vaccinated with the antibody to prevent serious illness in the hospital.
