Tourism Minister Huot Hak has high expectations for the inauguration of Techo International Airport next month. He stated, "Cambodia will receive more international flights with high efficiency with the arrival of the 4F Techo International Airport, which means more tourists, more business opportunities, and more revenue for the Cambodian tourism sector."
He made the remarks while leading a delegation of about 300 people from the Ministry of Tourism, the private sector, tour guides and tourism content producers to visit Techo International Airport on the morning of August 16.
Director of Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd., Charles Van (CAIC), gave a presentation on the overall outlook of Techo International Airport and its readiness to receive all levels and types of domestic and international flights from all over the world to Cambodia.
Mr. Huot Hak praised the Techo International Airport, which is a Cambodian masterpiece and a new achievement under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen.
He stated, "Having the largest international airport and a high added value for the tourism sector is a source of pride for all Cambodians." Mr. claims that Charles Van, Techo International Airport is ranked 9th out of 11 global architectural projects in 2025 because of its luxury, style, and green environment.
The first phase of the airport cost more than 2 billion US dollars. Over 2,600 hectares of land are used to build the airport. In its initial phase, this 4F airport can accommodate up to 13 million passengers per year and large aircraft like the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747. On September 9, 2025, Techo International Airport is expected to begin trial operations.
