Senate President Urges Calm Over VannDa-Coca-Cola Split

Vannda has previously collaborated with Coca-Cola and been featured in a variety of advertisements and music videos, including the "Pass on the Magic" campaign. Despite the fact that the termination has not yet been officially acknowledged or denied, Cambodian internet users expressed outrage over the apparent removal of posts and images featuring the well-known Cambodian rapper.

After Cambodians became enraged on social media and boycotted Coca-Cola due to the company's apparent termination of its advertising contract with rapper VannDa, Samdech Techo Hun Sen issued an appeal on social media at midnight. "Please, my fellow countrymen, remain calm and think carefully," Mr. Hun pleaded for calm.

First, we need to know if Vanda's love for the country was the reason the company ended their contract with her. Then we need to be aware that, despite the fact that Coca-Cola is manufactured in the United States, it is also a Cambodian product due to the fact that Cambodian workers benefit from its production and work there.

Cambodia also receives taxes, which boosts the country's economy. If the company withdraws from Cambodia, Cambodia will be the loser and our enemy will be the beneficiary. However, if this cocaine is produced in Cambodia, those of you who boycott the country will lose employment opportunities, as well as direct and indirect income for the people and state revenue.

Apart from the economic issue, there is another important issue: they are pushing us to be enemies with the United States, which creates diplomatic, economic, trade, and investment problems between Cambodia and the United States.

Our adversary had the intention of launching an attack on our economy from the beginning, threatening to cut off electricity, the internet, and oil sales. However, we have already cut off electricity and stopped buying oil so that they will not reappear.

Please avoid falling into our enemies' trap. Even Thai companies that are investing in Cambodia, we must work hard to protect them for our own benefit. I hope VannDa knows that you should persevere for the benefit of the nation even if they stop you for whatever reason.
