To change host name on VMware ESX, firstly, you go to press F2 on your keyboard and Enter Login name: root and your Password then use Arrow Key down on your keyboard to "Configure Management Network and hit Enter. Here my first hostname is localhost1.
After you hit enter, you use Arrow key down to "DNS Configuration" and go to Hostname and change it' name that you want to Assign for your VMware server. For me I have changed to ESXi then press Y on your Keyboard to save your configuration. You have done!
